Meet the Doctors

Dr. Susan Mazzei is a highly skilled dentist with a specialty in Prosthodontics at West Suburban Oral Healthcare. She is dedicated to providing gentle and effective care to patients of all backgrounds and ages in Naperville, Illinois.

A graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Mazzei received her degree in 1987. She later completed her Certification in Prosthodontics. Upon the completion of her studies, she joined the faculty of Northwestern University Dental School as a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Mazzei’s tenure continued for twelve years, where she enjoyed educating future dentists in all facets of their four-year education. After these years of hard work and dedication to the University, she was granted an Assistant Professor Emeritus at Northwestern University.

Dr. Mazzei believes that excellent oral health begins with education and prevention. Her professional philosophy is aligned with Functional Medicine, which determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of disease for each individual. She has made it her mission to enlighten patients on how they can take greater control over their dental health, which then supports optimal systemic health. As such, Dr. Mazzei is still committed to continuing her education and remaining current with the latest advancements in oral health and dentistry, ensuring that her patients receive the best care possible.

She is a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, a Charter Fellow in the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health and completed the Preceptorship Program of the Bale and Doneen Method.

Dr. Marco Fajardo is a 1992 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School. He joined the faculty of Northwestern University Dental School as a part-time Assistant Clinical Instructor. As a co-group leader, Dr. Fajardo lectured, taught, and monitored the progress of aspiring dentists for over seven years. He also served as a member of the University Dental Associates of the University of Chicago. In 1994, Dr. Mazzei and Dr. Fajardo formed the basis of what would become West Suburban Oral Healthcare.

Dr. Fajardo serves as the Team Leader at West Suburban Oral Healthcare. He is in charge of the 3 M’s of management—Manage, Monitor, and Make it go right for patients, doctors, and the team.

Dr. Fajardo is the Head Golf Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach at the University of Chicago Laboratory School. He has also served as a baseball instructor for the Chicago White Sox Organization and Training Academy for 17 years.

He enjoys golfing, baseball games, family, and playing with his giant English mastiff Zeus in his free time.

Dr. Ashley Nguyen was born in upstate New York. Her desire to help individuals achieve a healthy and beautiful smile sparked her interest in dentistry. This ultimately brought her to the University of Buffalo, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. She then went to Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, for dental school.

Dr. Nguyen is dedicated to clinical excellence in dentistry and is thrilled to join West Suburban Oral Health Care after witnessing our patient-centered philosophy and enthusiasm. She enjoys volunteering with organizations such as Illinois’ Mission of Mercy and has been to the Dominican Republic to provide free dental care. She hopes to participate in more community engagement programs in the future. Dr. Nguyen belongs to the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, and various local organizations. She continues her education by attending conferences and seminars that include courses on dental implants, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Nguyen was drawn to the area because of the kind people and easygoing environment. She loves to travel, hike, cook, and binge movies and shows in her free time. As a novice golfer and new to the area, tell her about any good tips to improve her skills or recommendations of places to golf. She is also a foodie, so any delicious restaurant or recipe suggestions are welcome.

Dr. Najin Vossooghi is a compassionate dentist dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry and completed her General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Dr. Vossooghi believes that every smile tells a story. Her favorite quote, “A smile is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart,” reflects her philosophy of creating confident, healthy smiles through personalized, gentle care. She is certified in Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers, has completed advanced training through Spears Dental Education, and is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Outside the office, Dr. Vossooghi enjoys working out and spending quality time with her family, including her three boys and her daughter. She is also an avid animal lover and cherishes time at home with her dog, Leo, and her two cats, Kiwi and Strawberry.
